چکیده
Flat-plate loop heat pipe (FLHP) is a passive two-phase transfer device. Comparing with traditional LHP cylindrical evaporator, it can be directly connected to flat source without the employment of saddle, which effectively reduce system thermal resistance and enhance temperature uniformity. In this work, stainless steel-ammonia FLHP was developed, extensive experiments have been conducted investigate its startup characteristics evaporator in horizontal vertical positions. Experimental results show that exhibits excellent performance. It successfully start up at small load as low 2 W no obvious overshoot. wide power range 5–35 W, generally starts only one situation, much simpler than evaporator. For rectangular leak from compensation chamber (CC) becomes very small. As result, vapor easily exit condenser most cases leading 100% utilization efficiency resultant satisfactory performance FLHP. addition, are insensitive orientation, promising great application potential future electronics cooling.

Steady State Model of a Loop Heat Pipe (LHP) With Coherent Porous Silicon (CPS) Wick in the Evaporator
A theoretical study is conducted to explore the effect of different parameters on the performance of a Loop Heat Pipe (LHP). These parameters are evaporator temperature, condenser temperature, total mass charge, the tube size of piping system, and pumping distance between evaporator and condenser. This paper pres ents a steady state model that describes the thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fl...

This work presents an experimental investigation of the thermal performance of a flatplate heat pipe during startup and shutdown operations. Using the analytical model developed in a previously study, analytical and experimental results on the effect of input power and cooling heat transfer coefficient on the thermal performance of the heat pipe are presented and discussed. The results indicate...
متن کاملThe Overall Heat Transfer Characteristics of a Double Pipe Heat Exchanger: Comparison of Experimental Data with Predictions of Standard Correlations
The single-phase flow and thermal performance of a double pipe heat exchanger are examined by experimental methods. The working fluid is water at atmospheric pressure. Temperature measurements at the inlet and outlet of the two streams and also at an intermediate point half way between the inlet and outlet is made, using copper-constantan thermocouple wires. Mass flow rates for each stream are ...
